Oh, I don't think you are speaking only for yourself, but even worse is that I am afraid lovesick twit will wind up being the least of it. If rumors are true and this woman is a fangirl Elliot invited on board to keep his bed warm, this is going to be pretty degrading to watch. Like we are all going to need baths type of degrading. I don't want to watch a stupid, or naive, or shallow or whatever young woman being treated as a prostitute on this show.
Sure she is a grown woman and can do what she likes, but the fact Discovery is going here tells me what the powers that be on this show think about all women, and it is none of it good.

Couldn't agree more. . . I prefer to keep the show real and rated PG.

I got a bar of soap handy just in case I cannot hit the mute button fast enough.I think discovery should get a clue.If you p%#@ off half of your viewers it draws attention for a day or so, that one decision(in a chain of many) will permanently dismantle the fan base and once it airs I will be writing all of the sponsers. To demonstrate to young viewers that this behavior is ok is sick. To tell the bosses and men of power it is not illegal to bed "employees" is an outright lie and the eeoc will be on this.

My mute was on anytime Elliot was on. I tried with Josh but once I saw the haircuts coming that was it. But on the bright side I am improving my Candy Crush levels.

I turned the channel. I was done when Elliott started licking his lips in the airport and then they hugged. I never went back to watch to the rest of the show. I always dvr the show, so I can catch up on the NW but that will be all.
Between Elliott and Josh, this show is now in the toilet!

I must admit that I must not have paid much attention to Elliot before because I didn't notice all the lip licking until people have commented about it in posts. Sadly, I have been noticing it a lot lately. Ick!!!

I was not able to watch this weeks episode at the time it aired (as occasionally happens). After reading all the comments I think, for the first time, I may not watch it. Doesn't sound like there was much worthwhile to see.

Something about Elliott's lip licking at the airport looked staged to me. I think DC told him to do it because they knew it would get a response from viewers. And actually, I was impressed by the girlfriend. In what little we saw of her, she did not act dumb or ditzy like we may have expected.

If the producer told him to do it, that actually makes it doubly bad. It still leaves Elliot a nasty perv, and then adds on that the powers that be are actively steering soft porn moments into this show. Complete and total disrespect for its core fan base, both men and women.
As for Jessica, she needs a grounded human being in her life to tell her that since she is neither someone's wife or daughter on that ship, the way Elliot has presented her is essentially in the role of his on call comfort woman. That is incredibly disrespectful on his part. He also has a little girl of his own. Now there is a permanent record of her father treating a woman badly that she will no doubt see and have to proccess. As will his son.

That is really sick and pathetic if the Disco producers have to resort to perverted techniques/plots to raise viewer interest. If you are lurking out there Discovery producers read my lips, "Please stop Elliot from licking his lips! It is grossing us out. We are polite and decent company. I don't think you want to lose your quality viewers."
It has been said before, but it bears repeating, "The Elliot sections on the show are nothing more than soap operas on the Bering Sea." The young man has a terrible drug problem and he happens to be a captain. The captain seeks treatment and tries to straighten out his life. He has another woman in the picture and is suddenly struck ill. He has locked himself in his stateroom and his crew is worried sick, or annoyed sick. There just happens to be doctor in Dutch Harbor who makes house (excuse me, boat) calls. Oh, and the doctor also has antibiotics in his coat pocket. LOL!

I think Elliot had already gone to the clinic under his own power but for whatever reason it had not been filmed, when DC producers realized they had a story to exploit they staged the whole Dr. on board scene. The pills the fake Dr pulled out of his pocket was Elliots already filled prescription he received after his clinic visit.
There is ZERO chance of that being a real scene.

I just watched this week's episode of The Soup, and their reality show clip of the week was of Elliot standing in the airport licking his lips at his girlfriend as she deplaned. As we used to say back in the day, "gag me with a spoon".

I have a question Devil, after what happened last year on the Saga with the ice buildup/ port side list & Elliott's blase attitude about it all, have ya'll ever had a camera crew refuse to go to sea with him?
And if that situation did come up, how would it be handled? especially if the boat was already rigged to go ('cause the folks who rig the boats generally aren't the ones going to sea)

If Disco didn't actually JUMP the Shark they were certainly "buzzing" it. In Season 6, right after Phil had passed away, Sig just waved at a Seagull, the Hillstrands made a bunch of racket with their guns and fireworks, and only Keith did anything even remotely resembling a shipboard Memorial Service.

I'm kinda discouraged that Discovery and Original Productions are NOT really listening to the fans as far as Elliot Neese. He's really put a damper on the show -- they spend WAY TOO MANY airtime minutes on his shenanigans and it's just not entertaining. I'm really hoping he is not on DC next year. As far as bringing the side piece--Jessica seems like a genuinely nice lady and her heart is in the right place, BUT.... She for sure needs to lose that nasally baby voice.

Sadly, I have been noticing it a lot lately. Ick!!! She certainly wasn't the mother figure Donna Quashnick who really cared about the crew and made meals that wouldn't cause them to be ill. I miss these old boats and crew from earlier season where you would not see this garbage. I sorta resent DC insulting our intelligences or good taste.

I dont like it, but I cant fault them for doing whats best for business. This is FreddieFan12, but I cant use the name till the slow mods approve me. Just kidding about the last part!
