Crabbers Want In on Federal Plan to Trace Illegal Seafood

All the major seafood companies,including the one I work for are currently taking steps to trace all or our products from catcher vessel to market.
My company intends to have this in place beginning with salmon season this year.

We already can trace a product back to the day of production,and can usually determine from plant records where the product came from.
Now,there will be a code on all products that we will be able to prove which vessel the product came from.
The consumer will not be able to tell by the code,but it will be tied to records that provide the proof.
