If you go to youtube and search... Deadliest Catch Captain Elliot being a villian. You will see him tell about a guy who got broken collarbone, arm , neck and all of his top teeth knocked out and then washed overboard. He said Deadliest catch caused his divorce. OMG he is such a *#%@&*% .

I'm confused . . . Did Elliot cause the accident in which that guy broke his collarbone, arm, and neck? Elliot said that DC caused his divorce. I thought he was, "The Baby Daddy," and was never married to Val. If that's the case then he is liar. I was under the impression that Elliot and Val were never married. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Actually, if they really were married, I could see how it could happen. Alaska is a large state with a very low population. My parents go to Homer every year to fish. Homer is where Val and the kids live. I believe Elliot is from there as well. Gossip spreads quickly in small towns. Maybe the locals are watching DC and thinking, "Oh what an idiot! And he claims to be from our town!" Nick McGlashan is from an even smaller Alaskan town, Akutan, though he isn't an idiot and can be kind of amusing to watch from time to time. One of Nick's uncles and an aunt along with their two kids, were next door neighbors to my family when I was young. They were nice/normal people.

I do not think Elliott and Val were married. From my experience via my work, people will consider themselves "married" if they live together for awhile. I think that's the case with him. DC broke up his "marriage" How about the cheating, drugs and drinking.lol

holy crap, Elliott told that story on the 'Revelations' special, but somehow I was under the impression he was talking about dreaming of that happening, like his worst nightmare. If that really happened, then Jesus

I finally got a chance to watch the interview on YouTube. Just follow the directions for the search debizhere gave. It looks like this interview was done the second year Elliot was on the show, while he still captained the Rambling Rose. The accident he is talking about seems to have happened when he was still on deck, not when he was captain. The boat he was on took a wave that tipped it nearly on its side, and Elliot"s buddy went overboard, Elliot got him back on, but the injuries were awful. Watch it yourselves, but it appears he was still a deckhand at the time.
He does refer to Val as his wife, and imply that Deadliest Cstch is responsible for his "divorce". I don't think they were legally married but I would not be surprised if Elliot did consider and refer to Val as his wife. He was/is obsessive about her. If Alaska recognizes common law marriage, he may also be skating on that definition.

Thanks Mari! I need to check it out. I am not sure about the whole common law marriage in Alaska. I noticed that on one of the episodes, Kelly Collins stated that his wife bought him a ticket from Anchorage, back to home. Evidently Kelly isn't married either. I read the most recent biographies from the boats. His caught my attention because my sister and her family live in Louisiana, his home state. It mentioned that he was engaged and had twin boys (which we saw on episode 6- very cute but didn't look like him IMHO). His goals were to provide for his family and get a Rolex watch like Wild Bill. Could it be that those two were embarrassed that they weren't legally married to the mother of their children?
One thing I can say about Elliot is, he never ceases to surprise me with something new and sleezy. I know my parents will probably run into him during one of their many Homer trips. I wonder if I should ask my mother to see if he licks his nose, er lips. LOL! I better not, she has a heart condition.

If Alaska recognizes common law marriage, he may also be skating on that definition. In "Canadia" (land of the Canadians, get it?) if you and your SO live under the same roof for three years you are automatically considered "married" to each other regardless of whether or not you have signed any Papers, or taken any Vows. The Income Tax People will treat you as a "couple", if you wish, and I believe you can give your kids "hyphenated" surnames. The downside of course is that should you two split up, the consequences can be exactly what you might expect from a Divorce.

Maybe they were married and Val doesn't want to admit that she married Elliot, the king of nasty, lip-licking! LOL!

Sorry for my error folks he was crew then.I was so angry I did not hear that part. I am so upset about the subject. It is just so wrong and so sickening and knowing that discovery wants me to be this mad is very upsetting to me.I really was a huge fan of the old Deadliest catch.

No, Kelly was not married to the twins mother. Yes, they are his boys. Kelly is not from Louisiana. I’ve encouraged him to reach out to the producers to return to DC. I’m hoping he gets a second chance. We shall see.
