Question is - will there be a 2019 season of Deadliest catch? I can't seem to find that information anywhere.

on the discovery.com, lots of the dates have no year listed
what i saw was "deadliest catch 9" starting on april 16
so i checked - season 9 was in 2013 and april 16 fell, voila!, on a tuesday
this year april 16 also falls on a tuesday
so i don't know if this has to do with anything, whether or not there will be a season 15 and if it actually starts april 16 of 2019
it's a tad confusing

You are correct, crittermama. I do not understand why Discovery would leave old information on its site. I did some more digging and all I could find is that there is no release date for the new season. Do we know for sure that there were cameras on the boats?

There were camera crews on all the DC boats. Helicopters, drones, and chase boats filming all 3 seasons. Safe to say there will certainly be a season 15.

Thanks for letting us know. I wonder why DC is being so silent about the up-coming season??

'Deadliest Catch is back for a landmark 15th season, and with it a new boat with a cut-throat captain.
The Emmy-winning docuseries is returning to Discovery Tuesday, April 9 at 9 p.m. ET, the network announced Wednesday, bringing with it new blood, dangerous weather and season-ending injuries, all in the search for crab.
here's a new crew in Dutch Harbor, Alaska this season, as the "no-nonsense" Captain Steve “Harley” Davidson and the 148-foot-long Southern Wind take their place in the fleet, rumored to know the location of more than a quarter-billion dollars worth of king crabs.
With that kind of scoop and the second-largest boat in the fleet, Harley isn't exactly quick making friends with his fellow captains, especially Captain Keith Colburn, whose boat, The Wizard, is the only vessel larger than Southern Wind.
If Harley's hunch turns out to be right, it will mean all-out war among the captains in the fleet, taking the hunt for crabs into close quarters and a whole new realm of trouble, all while the crabbers battle devastating winter weather causing more damage to their boats than they've seen in years.
On the Northwestern, Captain Sig Hansen is continuing to prepare his 23-year-old daughter Mandy to take over the reigns as relief skipper, but will she be able to step into her father's legendary shoes?
The Saga finally appears to be in a good place after years of work from Captain Jake Anderson and his crew, leading him to consider buying into the boat to become a partner. There's a major obstacle to gaining ownership, however, requiring the young captain to bring in more than a quarter-million in pure profit to buy in.
On the Summer Bay, Captain Wild Bill Wichrowski has two brand new greenhorns — and a tiny dog named Rico — to keep his eye on, as he works to catch enough crab to make a looming boat payment. When one of his newcomers goes missing at sea, it's far from a normal year for the seasoned captain.
Five years after Captain Sean Dwyer's dad passed away, the Brenna A's leader is looking forward after proving himself in the Bering Sea and working to convince his mother and business partner that they need to buy a second boat, all while outsmarting the veteran captains looking to hone in on his plans.
After the daring and successful exploits of Cornelia Marie Captains Josh Harris and Casey McManus, the two young bucks have to prove last year wasn't just luck — with $1 million extra quota on the line.
With all this on the line, the captains have their hands more than full without added complications from the harsh Alaskan weather. But as temperatures dip lower than they have in more than five years, parts of the Bering Sea are turning to ice — with the boats in it! 0comments
Deadliest Catch returns for Season 15 on Tuesday, April 9 at 9 p.m. ET only on Discovery. For extra content and exclusive interviews, check out the Discovery Go app and discovery.com.'

whew! thank you so much, drnash. how ever did you find this?! every year discovery makes it such a big mystery whether or not there will be another season. since there's bazillions of $ worth of equipment/salaries/costs that has to be committed starting with king crabs in october, one would think it wouldn't be such a secret for months. unless discovery just spends all the money to film, decides on the season later and is willing to just lose their investment...doesn't make sense to me, but then no one asked my opinion! the discovery.com website appears to say nary a word about season 15 and the website is so weirdly laid out now that, who knows?, maybe the announcement is there but you have to be a detective to find it. anyhoo, season 15 is on its way and i appreciate drnash finding the info and sharing it with the rest of us

Thanks for all the info, drnash. Wondering about the newcomer missing at sea on the Summer Bay. I assume he was recovered as I do not recall hearing about a loss. Of course it could have been the dog. Do we know any details on this?

"'Deadliest Catch is back for a landmark 15th season, and with it a new boat with a cut-throat captain" This made me laugh out loud when I read who the new captain is! "here's a new crew in Dutch Harbor, Alaska this season, as the "no-nonsense" Captain Steve “Harley” Davidson and the 148-foot-long Southern Wind take their place in the fleet, rumored to know the location of more than a quarter-billion dollars worth of king crabs." Steve Davidson is one of the nicest guys in the fleet. Very well liked by everyone that I know. Certainly one of my favorites among the guys that I know personally. DC is making it sound like the Southern Wind has not fished before, when in fact Harley has been running the Southern Wind for a very long time. I can't recall exactly, but I believe he has been on the Southern Wind fishing crab for at least 13 years, maybe longer. Some of you may have heard of the F/V American Star. A very large crabber that burned and went aground on Unimak Island some time in early 2000. There was a special on one of the networks about the salvage operation of that boat. Steve Davidson was the relief skipper on that boat and also ran it for tendering. It was during the time he was on that boat that I first got to know him. incidentnews.noaa.gov/incident/7467He also is a fleet manager for salmon season for Trident Seafoods. I just saw him in January at a memorial for a mutual friend who was a long time crab boat skipper. I will look forward to see him on DC.

I know that in 2005, DC spent a season on board the F/V Trailblazer, and never aired any of it. I even had them in my office talking to the skipper on camera. I was fleet manager that year, and was doing the paperwork for a delivery
That was probably my one and only chance to appear on camera.
Coincidentaly, the skipper was a year ahead of me in high school in Washington. We weren't close friends, but attended a lot of the same parties.
They filmed us talking over some old high school stories, as well as going over the paperwork.

So DC is willing to just throw money down the drain. Guess the Trailblazer didn't have enough drama on it. Thank you for the information!

The skipper told me at the time that he didn't think he was making enough drama to make DC happy
