While not directly DC related, I learned the sad news that a long time Bering Sea skipper has passed.
Jim Wilson has been a Bering Sea fisherman most of his adult life, was most recently captain of the Incentive. The Incentive was on DC for one season several years back with a different skipper on board. Jim was an older brother to Kiska Sea skipper Mike Wilson. Back when Phil Harris passed, and Derrick Ray took over the Cornelia Marie, they had been talking to Jim for that position. Jim, Derrick, and Mike grew up together on the Oregon Coast. Jim was affectionately known as "Jim Bob" and Derrick known as "Beauford". Mike has a similar nickname, but it escapes me right now.
He was a guy that I got to know only briefly, but on several occasions. We seemed to hit it off. We were the same age, and had some common interests.
Jim died of blunt force trauma injuries when he fell in his back yard in his Arizona home and hit head on something concrete.
RIP Jim Wilson

I read about his passing this morning on FB. It seems too many dies from accidents at their home. Prayers of comfort to his family.
