What is usually the result of these charges? Fines? I remember hearing that the whole crew loses money on these charges because the fine comes out of their money too.

If memory serves, he also got busted for undersized crab when he was skippering the Rambling Rose.

he was fined while tendering on bristol bay a few years ago. elliot seems to think rules and laws are meant for others and not him.

I went back and did a little Google-fu. Yep, he was cited by the wildlife troopers for undersized blue King crab on 12/15/2011. So there's that, the tendering citation doder brought up, and this red King crab citation.
I'm curious to see if the penalties get more severe for repeat offenders.

It's the crew that put the undersize crab into the tank, so I think it's fair that they pay the fine too.
But what on earth can you do wrong with tendering?

What is usually the result of these charges? Fines? I remember hearing that the whole crew loses money on these charges because the fine comes out of their money too. Penalties can range from a fine to seizure of the entire load. I believe that the penalty is levied against the boat, and is up to the owner how to distribute it. I think most take the fine off the top before earnings are calculated.Of course,if the load is seized, there are no earnings for anyone.

He was found guilty. Had a little over 3% undersized. He also called in (of course). He can fight the decision and no fine was decided.

Hello. I'm new to the board but have followed y'all since the Discovery days. I miss Erie and her post. Almost signed up back then but I'm a man of few words and little time to spare. Doder please warn us next time that you're gonna link to a picture of something that ugly. I thought Halloween was over. LOL Nice to be a part of you guys.

I've been giving this Eliot matter some "serious" thought. Now, with Jake Anderson married off (read "unavailable"), Josh Harris getting long in the tooth, and his baby brother Jake nowhere to be seen, who's left for the 13 to 16 year old fangirls to "swoon" over?
And before you decide that I've finally slipped my mental moorings -- didn't some C&W singer score a HUGE hit with a tune called "Ladies Love Outlaws"?
Billy --thanks for the info. Best I ever managed to reel in was a 26-lb Channel Cat. (The river here is like Forrest Gump's Box of Chocolates....You never know what you're gonna get! )

Elliott is not an outlaw, he's just a fool. And a not very attractive one at that.

Elliot is also a year or two older than Josh Harris, so it's not like he is some obvious pick for the teeny boppers. For that, Eddie Jr on the TimeBandit fits the bill far better than Elliot.

Even Charles Manson has a young attractive (albeit batsh*t crazy) woman wanting to marry him in prison. I don't doubt Elliot still has willing fanbots.
