Kiska Sea delivered a very small amount of opies in St Paul on 1/30. I don't have any explanation of why the small load.

I was in Ballard (Seattle) yesterday and saw the Summer Bay sitting in the harbor there. I did not have time to stop and see if Bill was around, but I suspect he was not.

I arrived back in King Cove on Tuesday,4/30 Ramblin Rose was at the dock taking tender gear when I arrived. It is being run by a colorful character from Kodiak known as Chevy Dave. I had not seen Dave since the crab derby days. When I came to work this morning I saw they had left town and were heading east, probably back to Kodiak.
Bob Perkey is in town running a boat called the Sandra Five.

I spoke to Jake Anderson on the phone on Friday. He is in Dutch Harbor getting the Saga ready for tendering. He should be in King Cove around June 8

Talked to Jake again on Friday. Asked him to haul a couple of life rafts from Dutch to King Cove for a couple of local fishermen. He will be in King Cove on Tuesday.
Casey posted on Facebook yesterday that the Cornelia Marie was leaving Seattle and headed for King Cove.

Incentive came into town last night, left today some time. Kodiak arrived today and is loading tender gear aboard. I think Murray is on there again, but have not seen him yet. Both boats looked like they were just out of the yard.

Whaaat? No Josh on board??? Oh wait, the cameras aren't on board either. I do like Casey and I would like the CM much better when no Josh is shown or heard yakking that mouth of his.

Cornelia Marie returned from Bristol Bay a couple days ago. Josh is on board. This morning something went wrong with the steering when Casey was driving out of the boat harbor, causing him to hit a large steel piling and doing a little damage to the upper part of the bow on the boat. Nothing serious, and won't be too difficult to repair. I talked to Casey a little later, and he's not happy about it.

Let me pick my jaw up off the floor, Josh is on board with no cameras? Yup. Watched Casey bring the boat to the dock, then saw Josh come up into the wheelhouse, then step out on the back deck and light up a cigarette.

I don't know who is on the Ramblin Rose. They have been tendering for another company. I don't know what Elliot is doing. I see him the the "Boats of Dutch Harbor" Facebook page now and then, but have not figured out what he's doing

not exactly a sighting.. My friend Jimmie that runs the Rollo for tendering is on his way to Dutch Harbor right now to pick up the boat. Then he is bringing the owner Eric to Naknek where I am now so he can fish for salmon for the company I now work for. If I remember right Eric was the skipper when the boat was on Deadliest Catch, correct? Right now it is difficult to get a flight in to Bristol Bay so guys are finding creative ways to get here.
In a post the other day I mentioned some the history of the Determined, and that it once went on the rocks when being run by a young, inexperienced skipper. I just remembered that skipper was Jimmie's son in law,and he is also going to be on the Rollo catching a ride to Naknek.

Rollo came to the dock and left before I got to work two days ago. Summer Bay is at the dock. I did not see any crew on board, but I doubt if Bill is tendering, but I will find out. Would be good to see Bill again. Have not seen him in person since he was on thje Koldiak. None of the boats crew will be able to get off the boat while they are at the dock due to Covid 19 restrictions

What is Bill like, King??? Bill is not on the Summer Bay right now. I actually messaged Bill on Facebook and asked who was on there, and to my surprise he responded immediately. He told me that it is being run by another old time crabber that I've known forever. I was able to chat with him for a bit last night. To me,Bill is exactly like you see him on DC. Rough and tough, but he cares about people. He did however earn his name "Wild Bill".He was a lot wilder in his younger days.Rumors are he even pulled a gun on a crewmember one time, and he had a reputation of being quite the party animal. I saw him in action in the bar in King Cove a few times. If I recall right,he liked Jagermeister. I've been told he is an outstanding chef. I was never included, but he used to host a dinner on his boat every year for the upper management of my former employer.I always heard how great the meals were, and alcohol was usually involved. Many years ago when I was in HR for my previous employer I was involved with a very unruly employee that had been terminated. He was a little guy, probably around 20 years old, but had a huge mouth. He was in the office shouting and swearing at anyone in the area.I was trying to calm him down and get him out of the office, but I had to be politically correct. Bill walked into the office, listened to this punk for a minute and said to him "These people have to listen to your bulls#$t but I don't, you need to shut the f$%k up" The little guy responded "F^&k you man" and kept yapping. Bill ,who is substantially larger than the punk, grabbed him,put him against a wall, and then escorted him out the door. The punk did not stop yelling and swearing and was accusing Bill of grabbing him by the throat. The kid went to the police and tried to press charges for assault. Local police came and investigated, but no charges were filed.Seems that of the 4-5 people in the area at the time, nobody witnessed an assault. The kid later filed a grievance with EEOC that was dismissed after an investigation.

Jeff, thanks for the great story. You made Bill come alive for me. One can never be sure if what is presented on DC is the real thing. Apparently, Bill is the real thing.
